Ask anyone with a business, all of us know that we are not great at everything. Worse yet, as we get busier we have more and more work to do.

At some point we need to get some help.

We can employ people but that requires a fair committment even for part time staff.

We can use temps, probably through an agency, but they can be expensive

Or we can outsource.

Outsourcing is where we look at our business and see which tasks can be done by other people and get them to do the tasks for us, usually on a freelance, non-contractual basis, item by item or hour by hour.

This method of getting work done reduces our committment but gets the job done.

Problem is that getting the right people is not easy, neither is managing them! At least not if you do not know how to do it. In this training course Stephen is going to outline how to work with Craiglist, a huge online classified advertising site with local sites across the US and around the world, to get your important yet time consuming tasks done effectiviely and at a price that will not fill your eyes with tears.

The biggest mistake that may people make is to jump in with both feet without knowing exaclty what they need to outsource. See, not all businesses are the same, so you need to analyse your business to analyse your outsourcing priorities

For example, what task takes most of the time? What are the most boring tasks you do? It is very easy to think of all these people who could hire to expand your business, but you have to think about the basics first. This is what we will deal with in this video.

One thing is certain, freelancers are not all created equal! This means that different freelancers will have different good and bad points. Before you get your ad posted you’ll need to understand the different types of activity and the people who do them, whether they be article authors, programmers, graphic designers, virtual assistants, and more.

Some tasks are more technical than other and some functions will need some guidance and training, and others will require  less. In this video we will discuss the different types of freelancers. Once you understand this you can post your ads to attract the right people.

The idea of Video # 3 is to eliminate freelancers who do not meet your needs. This means that people were not doing the job to the standards you are looking for. However, there is still a possibility for those not so great performers to pass the earlier tests. In this video, we will discuss the interview process, or your last line filtering for good freelancers.

Now you have to learn to detect a bad freelancer, in order to find a good one. Fortunately, you will not make the same mistakes that Stephen the presenter amde.

By now you’ll have chosen a few candidates who could be potential part-time or full-time employees. These candidates will have rocked your world, or at least convinced you enough for you to give them a test project. If this is not the case, try again, more ads, start the cycle over.

It is important to give them test projects. Keep in mind that you need to pay them but you need to give them some trial projects in order to gain their trust. This process will give you the ability to see if they are worthy of a position or not, something that could later turn into a full-time position.
