Back End Affiliate Profits

Back End Affiliate Profits

A great way to make some money online is to use what is called affiliate marketing.  There are many ways that you can utilize this method.  But one way that seems to work for many marketers is called back end .  This is a great way to either increase profits from a sale that has already happened or to get a new sale out of someone that has taken some kind of action.

Think of any time that you prompt a potential customer to take an action.  Have you ever built up a list?  Have you ever sold a product before?  These are examples of the actions that you have lead potential customers to take.  After they have taken the action, there is no reason that you cannot prompt them to take another action.  When this second action is a prompt to buy a product that was not made by you, you are using back end affiliate marketing.

The idea is to multiply your profits.  After a user takes what ever action you have setup, the very next page that they should see is a page that might persuade them to purchase an affiliate product.  It is important to make sure that this product is related to the action that they have just taken.  For instance, if they have just subscribed to a list of dog grooming tips, then your tactic should be to sell them a dog grooming e-book.  If they have just downloaded a free product that gives them 100 gardening tips, then you can sell a subscription to a gardening newsletter on the back end.

Keep in mind, there are many ways to sell affiliate products and back end affiliate marketing is not always the most effective.  Sometimes, it is more effective to capture of a client’s e-mail address and then recommend an affiliate product to them through a series of e-mail messages.  But, in some situations it is very effective to market affiliate products on the back end of something else.  Just be sure that you are using a relevant product.  It may even be to your advantage to test out different products.  For instance, you could try one affiliate product and present it to 100 potential customers that take the action that you have set up, then use a different product for the next 100.  Then you would want to compare the number of sales that you achieved.

Put back end affiliate marketing into your promotional tool chest as a method of boosting the profits that you earn from other methods, such as building your list.  Do not use it as the only means of earning money, but test it out and see how it works for you.
