Convert a Document to PDF Format
The internet is full of text, usually we read the text while connected to the internet but sometimes we want to make a document that can exist away from the web. We can use Word documents but not everyone has Microsoft Word available, we can use .txt files but then we get no graphics or decent layout on the page. Worse yet, if we are making documents that need to be kept secure, such as ebooks and reports that we might be selling then these formats are simply to open to copying and theft.
Many years ago a document format called PDF was designed; PDF enabled content creators to make documents that could be viewed on a computer screen, printed out and even edited or shared all as long as the document creator enabled these things. PDF carries all the graphics you need, has fonts and full layout just like the original document and, over the years, Adobe, who developed the format, have worked very hard to ensure that almost every computer user can read PDF files.
The problem has, for a long time, been the creation of the original PDF files. For many years all the tools for creating PDFs were expensive and complex, now we have free and easy to use software for making good quality PDF files that we can share with our site visitors and clients.
Here we have a training video about creating PDF files from your text files, very useful information if you need to share the written word with the world.
